Motion Work

It All Began Here

Production photography with a motion picture background — work built to earn its place on screen.

I shoot motion.

Let’s be honest. Most still photographers who add motion to their services learned it the same way: bought a camera that shoots video and figured it out as they went. Either as a way to charge more, or as a reaction to a client’s need for moving pictures. Or both. How hard could it be, right?

Well, technically, it’s a completely different skillset. Different gear, different software, different approaches to the work. Many photographers find themselves in an odd position. A seasoned photographer, with newbie filmmaking chops. Fake it till you make it, baby.

In contrast, I built my production foundation on the other side — inside motion picture production, managing large set shoots, creating cinematic visuals where every variable has a contingency before the first take. This is my wheelhouse. This is my expertise.

My background changes the whole experience. Not just the quality of footage, but every step in the process. Production value is built on the work that happens before the camera rolls. Not after. No one suddenly looks around an Eric Wood set and realizes there are too many hats and not enough heads.

I have two main jobs: protect the investment and create a safe space for art to happen. This is where experience matters.

Consulting

Not every client needs my full production skill set. Some are building internal capability. Some are growing departments, or believe the scale of their work doesn’t justify the investment.

This is why I offer production consulting. I’d like my experience to help those agencies and clients expanding into motion — planning structures, workflow, and deliverables that match actual goals instead of trend cycles. If you’re staffing up and want to avoid unforeseeable challenges. If your concerned with ROI and want to discuss your market’s resources and infrastructure and avoid mistakes many make on their first pass, I can help lay a practical foundation.

Artificial Intelligence

I’m also fully engaged and honest about AI’s role in motion production. My work clearly shows that AI is not a replacement for the skills above — it’s a multiplier for them. I can tell you where LLMs and agentics actually help. Where it steals valuable time and only seems like a money-saving shortcut. Where it matters and where it doesn’t. If you’re involved with cinema, commercials or still advertising, you need to know how to integrate AI into a production stack without losing control of the deliverable. I can help with that.

The future looks bright. But it’s going to be different from what people expect.
