1. About This Site

This site is the work of Eric Wood Photography. I’m a commercial photographer and filmmaker based in Florida, working internationally. These terms govern your use of this website and any commissions or purchases we enter into.

2. Copyright and Ownership

All images, videos, and content on this site are owned by Eric Wood Photography unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content without written permission.

If you commission work or purchase prints, the ownership and usage rights are defined in the specific agreement for that work. Default licensing terms are outlined below.

3. Commissioning Work

When you hire me for a commission:

  • I will deliver the work as agreed in writing before the shoot.

  • Pricing, deliverables, and timelines are confirmed in advance.

  • Changes to orders or commissions after an agreement has been reached can result in delays in delivery and additional cost. Cases that result in change of scope and deliverables will require a new agreement.

  • I reserve the right to use completed work for self-promotion, portfolio, and marketing unless we agree otherwise in writing.

  • You may not use images outside the agreed scope without additional licensing.

4. Licensing and Usage

Standard commercial license:‍ ‍

  • Client owns the final deliverables for the agreed purpose.

  • Usage is limited to the platforms, media, and duration specified in the agreement.

  • Extended usage or additional platforms requires a new agreement.

Editorial and personal use:‍ ‍

  • Images may be used for informational, personal, or non-commercial purposes with attribution.

  • Commercial use requires a separate license.

Editorial Guidelines:

  • Free use is typically limited to recognized journalistic outlets (such as major newspapers or news sites) that provide proper attribution and prior notice.

  • I often grant a no-fee license for a single article with web and print rights.

  • Some specific contexts, such as academic dissertations, peer-reviewed journals, or non-commercial educational materials, may also qualify for free editorial licenses with attribution.

For other publications, usage fees are standard and vary based on circulation, media type, and exclusivity.

Pricing disclaimer:

Any price ranges below are ranges only and reflect my current normal practice. Actual fees are determined by the specific use, audience, and scope and can change at any time.

  • Small publications (under 25,000 circulation) may pay $50–$150 per image for print and web use.

  • Large/national outlets (over 250,000 circulation) typically pay $250–$750 per image.

  • Book publishing fees range from $500 to $2,500 per image depending on print run and territory.

  • I often charge $100–$500 per image for editorial publication, with higher rates for cover shots or large spreads.

Editorial use is not synonymous with "free" use for all entities; businesses, brands, and non-journalistic entities must purchase commercial licenses even if the image is editorial in nature, and using editorial images for promotional purposes without a commercial license constitutes infringement.

5. Print Sales

Prints are available by request. When you purchase a print:

  • Prints are produced through a trusted fine art printer and inspected before shipping.

  • Color and tonal reproduction is as accurate as monitor calibration allows. Slight variations between screen and print are normal.

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days if the print arrives damaged or materially different from the agreed preview.

  • Custom prints and limited editions are non-returnable unless defective.

6. Pricing and Payment

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days.

  • Payment terms are specified in the project agreement.

  • Late payments may affect delivery schedules.

7. Model and Property Releases

I maintain signed releases for identifiable people and property in commercial work. You will receive copies of those releases upon request. Likewise, if the shoot involves talent, locations, or property under your control, I will ask you to provide signed releases or confirm in writing that you have secured them. The goal is simple: both parties leave with the documentation needed to use the work.

8. Social Media and Third-Party Platforms

You may share completed work on social media with credit when practical. I may share work from active commissions on my own channels after the project is complete. Requests to extend the window of release or to limit release will be addressed in formal agreements.

9. Privacy

I collect minimal information necessary to conduct business. Your contact details and project information are not shared with third parties. All information shared between parties is expected to be treated as confidential. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

10. Limitation of Liability

I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of my work or this site. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific work in question.

11. Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms as the business evolves. Changes are effective when posted. Significant changes will be noted on the site.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
